FOUND LOVE IN THE ODDEST PLACE

Its been a month of blogging. To appreciate you, my readers I have decided to give something extra for the weekend.

I have heard about finding love in very strange places but this is the oddest one I have heard so far! Amanda is a lovely lady any man would love to make his permanent companion for the rest of his life. She was a middle weight, average height, good dentition, smooth chocolate skin devoid of acne and the likes. Her best assets are her white bulging eyeballs and her straight long smooth calves. To top all these assets, she was crowned with a long jet black, thick mane which she managed to flaunt at any given time.

She had been feeling dejected not quite long about her marital status. Her immediate younger sister was married and done with procreation. She had series of relationships which led to heart breaks over and over. Lately, she had begun to think she wasn’t lucky with the opposite sex because Richard, a colleague from the office with whom she felt she would eventually settle with, gave her the heaviest blow she had ever been dealt with. She stumbled on his pre-wedding pictures on a colleague’s Facebook page. He was getting married to another lady from another branch of the same Coy. It seemed her whole world came crumbling down. You see, Richard played her all the while; he made her see reasons why their courtship shouldn’t be in the public glare. What’s hidden has more value, he said. Because Amanda was quite a private person too, she concurred. So when she discovered this picture, she was shattered and blamed herself for agreeing to keep their relationship secret. Even in her state, she hid her shock from her colleagues because she feared they would blame her more.

Dejected, Amanda sought for permission and left the office quite early than usual. Before she left, she washed her face , retouched her makeup and hair because it had swollen up with incessant tears. However, she met a heavy traffic as it was a Friday. She alighted before she got to her bus stop, crossed to the other side of the bridge to board a bike to Egbeda. She normally wouldn’t share bike rides but today she had no choice than to board the next available one because the traffic continued building up and the demand was increasing as it was exactly the time for close of business in Lagos. In addition, the skies were giving signs of heavy downpour. The one she could get had a passenger on it already but she didn’t mind. She boarded and they went on their way.

Bade had sighted the sweet looking lady from his position on the bike. He persuaded the bike man he would pay him handsomely if he would please pick the lady and ignore others. Throughout their journey, he made small talks to have a peek into Amanda’s personality and seemed to like what he discovered. Amanda got to her destination, alighted and was about to pay her fare when Bade stopped her to pay instead and asked for her contact. Obviously Amanda felt drawn to Bade in a way because she obliged and they say, the rest is history. Every time I get to chat with Amanda, she doesn’t fail to thank God for the man behind her smiles. The funny thing is that Amanda wouldn’t have shared a bike ride talk less of contributing to small talks with strangers.

Odd as it may sound, this is a true story with some twist. I was at the wedding, held in Ibadan. The marriage is blessed. God makes all things beautiful, in His own time.
