I AM HIS WIFE’S FRIEND. YET, HE WANTS TO SLEEP WITH ME!

I have said it! Officially, I pronounce marriage a very serious business meant for only the strong. Chioma just called me to narrate her experience with Mr Kolawole, her colleague’s husband. Mrs Kolawole (Mary) and my close chum are good friends as well as colleagues. Mary lives not quite far from Chioma’s flat at Mowe, here in Lagos (You can say, Ogun State). So their friendship didn’t end at work, it has grown to be beautiful (I don’t mind sharing Chioma, but nobody takes the place of BFF from me, Prisca!).

Mr Kolawole has always been a quiet man, you know those uncles that wouldn’t spare you a glance even when exchanging normal greetings, those uncle gwegwe that wouldn’t join in any discussion in the car when driving to work, no matter how hot the topic was? Yes! That’s Mr K4Show! I remember the day I was fortunate to have an encounter with him, I was at Chioma’s for the weekend for the normal hang-out every fortnight. She begged me to follow her so as to deliver some clothes she sowed for Mary. You see, Chioma is as industrious as I am, she sews while I sell natural products (you can visit/follow instagram.com/treasureorganics on IG or follow Treasure Organics  on FB to order your Pure Coconut Oil, Pure Honey, Shea Butter and Black soap @ affordable and unrivaled prices). As it was getting a bit dark and the weather was accommodating, I accompanied her. Also, I couldn’t wait to meet ‘the Mary’ who was competing with my position in Chioma’s heart.

Mary, I deduced after minutes meeting her was not as friendly as I thought her to be but that changed later. In fact, it was as if our presence at her house was an invasion. Her hubby, Mr K ushered us in with grunts as greetings. This made me wonder if Chioma actually had a friend in Mary. Anyways, Mary came out after several minutes of sitting two of us alone in the living room, with an expression that said it all. Haha! trust me now, I immediately stood up to take my leave but Chioma would wouldn’t let me leave the spot. Mary changed her countenance on seeing that I had reacted, with some flimsy excuse as to why she didn’t attend to us on time. Before we left her house, she offered us some slices of decadent fruit cake from instagram.com/sweethavencakes_nmore. Oh my! That singular act endeared her to me! Within a short while, we became very good friends.

To the real gist at hand- Mary was on leave at this particular period so she was not in the car as Mr K drove towards the Island where his wife and Chioma work. The first thing Chioma noticed was that Mr K – The Quiet was a chatter-box from the moment she entered the car, he started brushing his hands against Chioma’s laps (she at first saw that as unconscious moves) but as the moves became more frequent, she knew something was up so she moved slightly against the door. Immediately she did that his right arm went across the back of the car seat and remained there till the end of the journey. As he was about to pull over at the Bus Stop for Chioma to alight, he mentioned the physical similarities between his wife and Chioma; making his intentions known…he wanted an extra rump in the hay!

Chioma went frigid to languid back to frigid within one second. It was as if she was in some sort of trance or vision. She respectfully rejected the offer and was about to alight when Mr K, with his arm already across the seat-back, clamped firmly Chioma’s shoulders and pulled her roughly to his side and stole a peck!!! Trust my girl, she dished him a hot delicacy of cheek-strike (if you know, you know)!

What would you have done differently? Now Chioma is at cross roads, Chioma would be anxiously following the comments as well. Should she tell Mary? Or should she act as if nothing went awry? If Yes, when is the right time to do that and how? If No, why? Even I, am at loss of words because Mary has become like the third girl in our circle. Hmmm, if this happens to me, trust me I won’t tell her. I will only avoid the man because telling her might destroy their home and definately affect our friendship either way. So as for me, I will really avoid the man and limit seeing my friend to only in the office and on phone.

Thanks, Tunmise but remember, Mary and Chioma are close friends, won’t she suspect? How would you feel if your close friend hides this from you? This is from Chioma.

Some men are devils incarnate, I will get the motherfuker down with my acting skills leaving evidence trails for Mary. (Who needs to use her brain to put the puzzles together)
Of course with the help of our other friends. @ priscal I know u are quite aware of what I can do. Brother my foot, they will not sing secular music, go clubbing and do other hobnobbing activities, yet they commit the most grievous sins against their marital vows.

Please tell him to try me…. and he will be sure to get a full plate..no full reservoir.

Chioma did good with the ‘cheek strike’. She needs to advise her friend to be watchful and she needs to keep her distance from the family.

It’s not a pleasant situation to find one’s self in. Maybe she should keep her cool for now, cut the man some slack. But if he does it again after he’s been put off, it may be a good thing to get his advances on record. And just play for his wife. She should remember to give a deep breath after she plays it, to show how dumbfounded she is ( it works well in Africa)

Not at all pleasant. So you mean she should let him have another go at her to get it on record…hmmm, that’s another view. Thanks, TMS for dropping by.

I’ll also suggest Chioma holds on for now and not tell her friend yet since it wasn’t more than a peck. At least, the “cheek strike” should be a warning to Mr. K not to trespass again, but if he wasn’t satisfied with that and makes another attempt, then it will be a good time to put her friend in the picture.
And at the same time she needs to keep her distance from him and reduce the frequency of visiting.

It will be good to let Mary know the kind of hubby she married, that is if she doesn’t even know before. Letting her know will prepare her mind(mary) against any future occurrence. Chioma should also prepare her mind to lose her friendship with mary on the ground of truth because Mr Oga may turn the table against her. We ladies need to start being our sister’s keeper.

I strongly agree with you but that’s if Mary has a very mature mind plus if she trust me to an extent. Thanks, Ronke for dropping by.

This had happened to me before, years back about 8years ago. my very close friend from school. She had her second baby and i went to pay her visit in ogun state which made me stayed for 3days at her place and her hubby tired severally to get close. he had alwas tried that even when they were dating but i thought he was just doing it unconsciously but this time around he wasnt just touching me , he was trying to kiss and do all sort. so i warned him sternly and since that time i have not set my eyes on my friend, i never told her anything though i just stayed clear.. she contacted me recently saying something happened in Ogun state where they lived for close to 9years and they left without any of their belongings, she neva mentioned what happened but deep down i knew the guy must have misbehaved.

Hmmm, thanks Ronke. This is exactly why I, personally feel Chioma should have found a way to inform Mary…who knows? It may save them from a more shameful experience. iIf you had told her and your friendship suffered then because you told her, she would remember and love you for it now. Thanks once again for this experience you have shared with us.

Chioma should find a way to tell her friend if really she wants to help her, and stay away from the man.
